AI Engineer – Generative AI & Azure About the role We are looking for an AI Engineer to join an international AI programme based in Barcelona . In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and deployment of AI solutions within a Microsoft / Azure environment , with a strong focus on Generative AI , LLMs , Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) , and production-ready backend systems . You will work on scalable AI applications and APIs , integrating advanced AI capabilities into real production environments while ensuring performance, reliability, security, and maintainability . You will collaborate closely with Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and Frontend Developers to transform business requirements into robust AI solutions . If you enjoy building AI products with Azure, LLMs, RAG, APIs, and cloud-native services , this could be a great fit.

What you’ll do

Design and develop

scalable backend systems and APIs

to support

AI-powered solutions Build and optimise

cloud-based AI applications

within the

Microsoft Azure ecosystem Integrate advanced AI capabilities such as

Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) ,

Large Language Models (LLMs) ,

speech-to-text , and other

AI models

into

production environments Work with

Azure services

such as

Azure Functions, App Services, Cosmos DB, and Azure Key Vault Contribute to the

deployment and integration of AI models

into reliable and scalable

backend architectures Collaborate with

Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and Frontend Developers

to ensure seamless

end-to-end integration of AI solutions Monitor

system performance , troubleshoot

technical issues ,



and resolve problems related to

backend services

and

AI model deployments Help ensure

high availability, reliability, security, and performance

of

AI applications in production Apply

prompt engineering techniques

and contribute to the continuous improvement of

Generative AI solutions Stay up to date with developments across the

Generative AI and LLM ecosystem

and identify opportunities to apply

emerging technologies

Must Have

Professional experience developing AI solutions

Hands-on experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models

Experience designing or developing backend systems and APIs for AI applications

Experience working with Microsoft Azure in cloud-based environments

Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures and AI model integration

Experience bringing AI solutions or models into production environments

Understanding of prompt engineering concepts and Generative AI best practices

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional technical teams

Fluent or high-level English

Nice to Have

Experience with Azure Functions

Experience with Azure App Services

Experience with Cosmos DB

Experience with Azure Key Vault





Experience integrating speech-to-text solutions

Experience designing and implementing Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solutions

Experience applying LLMs to document processing and information extraction use cases

Knowledge of monitoring, reliability, and optimisation of AI services in production

Hybrid model 2 days onsite per week
