THE ROLE

We're looking for a FTW Product Development Lead to join our Product team at a defining moment. This isn't a role to maintain a machine that's already running — it's a role to build it. You'll own the development function end-to-end: the processes, the standards, the supplier relationships, and the team structure. You'll report directly to the Chief Product Officer and work closely with Design, Merchandising, and Production.

This is a hands-on role. You'll be deep in the craft — and simultaneously building the structure that makes the whole function reliable.

YOUR CHALLENGE

Product Development & Execution

- Lead the full product development cycle from tech-pack to GTM-ready sample — footwear first, accessories as the scope grows

- Review and approve proto, sealing, and pre-production samples with precise technical feedback

- Validate new materials and processes before they enter production

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with our factories and material suppliers, primarily based in Spain and Portugal

- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to drive continuous improvement in innovation, sustainability, and efficiency

Leadership

- Lead and upskill a small team of product developers — bringing structure, expertise, and autonomy where it's been missing

- Define product development KPIs (time-to-market, quality, return rates, margins) and report regularly to senior leadership

- Establish and continuously improve the processes that make the development engine reliable and scalable

GTM & Strategy

- Own and manage the product development calendar in close collaboration with Merchandising, protecting key GTM milestones





- Analyse sales and return data to make data-informed decisions and feed recommendations back into the product process

Master Data & Systems

- Maintain product data accuracy across our systems (PLM/Centric, ERP, POS)

- Serve as the cross-functional point of contact on product information — for Design, Brand, Channels, and Customer Service

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- 7+ years of experience in footwear product development — factory-side or brand-side, both work (experience in an Atelier or factory environment is a strong plus)

- Deep technical knowledge of footwear construction, materials, fit, and manufacturing processes; leather goods experience is a plus

- Proven experience leading or structuring a team — and the ability to be hands-on yourself, not just a manager

- Track record working with suppliers and factories, ideally in Spain or Portugal

- Experience with PLM and ERP systems (we use Centric); strong Excel skills

- Ability to analyse sales and return data and translate it into product decisions

- Fluent in Spanish and English (essential — Spanish for factory relationships, English for the broader team and international suppliers)

- A solution-first mindset: you move fast, protect deadlines, and don't wait for perfect conditions

- Willing to travel ~20% to visit factories, attend trade shows, and source materials
