The Role

micro1 is engaging Adolescent Suicide & Self-Harm Specialists to contribute to a customer project focused on enhancing the assessment and management of adolescent suicide and self-harm risk. You’ll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems, shaping how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world clinical input.

You’ll assess complex adolescent presentations, develop clear clinical guidance, and document risk formulations that inform effective, practical responses. Your insights will directly support the development of tools designed to reliably differentiate between ideation, intent, and acute risk, helping non-specialist users respond appropriately in real-world scenarios.

No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.

What You’ll Own

- Review adolescent case materials and generate structured, written risk assessments for suicide and self-harm presentations.
- Apply validated assessment tools, including C-SSRS, alongside expert clinical risk formulation to provide clear, actionable guidance.
- Differentiate between self-harm, suicidal ideation, and suicidal intent, and characterize levels of acuity with precision.
- Recommend appropriate response protocols, including escalation pathways, safety planning such as the Stanley-Brown Safety Planning Intervention, and means-restriction strategies.
- Identify comorbidities, safeguarding concerns, and contextual factors that may influence risk and incorporate them into assessments.
- Document guidance in clear,



research-grade English so non-specialists can confidently implement recommended actions.
- Benchmark and cross-reference risk judgments against established guidelines and peer assessments to ensure consistency and quality.

What We’re Looking For

- 3–5+ years of post-qualification experience with direct adolescent clinical contact focused on suicide and self-harm risk.
- Specialist credentials in child or adolescent psychiatry or psychology, with demonstrated expertise in suicide and self-harm interventions.
- Active clinical license or registration in good standing, with an active adolescent caseload within the past two years.
- Advanced proficiency in suicide and self-harm risk assessment tools, including C-SSRS and established safety planning protocols.
- Familiarity with evidence-based adolescent interventions, including DBT-A and trauma-informed care approaches.
- Exceptional written English skills, with native or equivalent proficiency such as IELTS 7.5+ with 7.0+ in writing, TOEFL 100+, Cambridge C1–C2, or equivalent.

Preferred

- DBT-A or CBT training.
- Experience in crisis or inpatient clinical settings.
- Contributions to suicidology research or clinical guidelines.

Compensation

The compensation for this contractor role is based on approved work completed and accepted through the project’s quality review process.



Specific payment rates and terms will be provided during the onboarding process.

Start Timeline & Availability

We typically fill roles within 48 hours and are looking for experts who are ready to begin immediately. If selected, you’ll be expected to start your first tasks within 24–48 hours of completing onboarding.
