Compensation: $50,000–$70,000 USD annually, based on experience and qualifications. Compensation will be paid in USD. The EUR range displayed on this posting is an approximate equivalent provided for local reference and may fluctuate based on exchange rates.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Manager, Financial Operations to own and lead the financial operations function for Ironsail Pharma. Reporting to the Head of Platform Operations, this role will directly oversee the Billing & Reconciliation Manager and billing/reconciliation team, with accountability for ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.

This is a hands-on leadership role focused on ownership and execution. The Senior Manager will establish schedules and accountability, drive outstanding financial work through resolution, identify and address issues, and continuously strengthen the processes and controls supporting the function.

This is also an AI-first role. Candidates should be comfortable using AI beyond basic administrative tasks to accelerate analysis, improve financial workflows, reduce repetitive manual work, and increase efficiency. Advanced AI development expertise is not required; the expectation is practical, effective use of AI while maintaining appropriate human verification, financial controls, accuracy, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations, Reconciliation & Controls

- Own the end-to-end financial operations, reconciliation, and control processes for Ironsail Pharma.
- Ensure reconciliation across platform orders, shipments, pharmacy reports, client billing, collections, and pharmacy payments.
- Identify and drive resolution of missed billing, missing charges, duplicate transactions, and pricing discrepancies.
- Own the weekly pharmacy payment calendar, ensuring every pharmacy is paid according to its established terms.
- Schedule and approve wires within established authority, with appropriate separation of preparation, approval, and release controls.
- Establish and maintain documented financial processes, deadlines, approval responsibilities, and escalation procedures.
- Build clear schedules and accountability across the financial operations team to ensure work is completed accurately and on time.
- Develop and maintain appropriate verification and financial controls, including controls supporting AI-enabled processes.

Management Review & Reporting

- Own financial issues through resolution rather than simply identifying or escalating them.
- Assign clear owners, responsibilities, and deadlines for outstanding financial issues and follow through until completion.
- Proactively identify financial discrepancies,



operational breakdowns, and unresolved items before they become material issues.
- Investigate recurring problems and implement process or control changes to prevent recurrence.
- Escalate material financial risks to leadership when appropriate while remaining accountable for driving resolution.
- Maintain visibility into open issues, corrective actions, and completion status for leadership.

Team Leadership

- Report to the Head of Platform Operations and directly manage the Billing & Reconciliation Manager and billing/reconciliation team.
- Set clear priorities, assign responsibilities, and establish daily and weekly work schedules for the team.
- Review completed work for accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to established processes and controls.
- Establish clear goals, KPIs, deadlines, and performance expectations for the function.
- Hold team members accountable for assigned responsibilities, deadlines, and resolution of outstanding issues.
- Provide hands-on leadership and actively remove obstacles that prevent the team from completing its work.
- Identify and implement improvements to how the financial operations function is structured and operates.
- Maintain the authority and accountability necessary to continuously improve team performance, processes, and execution.

Process Improvement, AI & Automation

- Own the design, documentation, implementation, and ongoing performance of financial operations processes.
- Take an AI-first approach to improving financial operations, using AI to increase efficiency, accelerate analysis, and reduce repetitive manual work.
- Use AI as an analytical and operational tool for areas such as reconciliation, billing completeness checks, exception reporting, payment tracking, and financial analysis.
- Be comfortable using AI to analyze and improve existing finance workflows, including adapting prompts, instructions, and processes to produce reliable and repeatable outputs.
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring financial workflows while maintaining appropriate human verification, financial controls, and accountability.
- Partner with operations and development teams when more advanced system changes, integrations, or technical automation are required.
- Maintain clear documentation and controls around AI-assisted and automated financial processes.

QualificationsQualifications

- 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting, financial operations, controllership, or a related finance function.
- Prior experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, Finance Manager, Senior Financial Operations Manager, or similar financial leadership role.
- Proven experience leading billing, reconciliation, accounting, or finance teams in a high-volume environment.
- Strong understanding of internal controls, financial risk management, reconciliation, and financial reporting,



with demonstrated ability to identify financial leakage, discrepancies, and process gaps.
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools for more than basic administrative tasks, such as email drafting or simple spreadsheet assistance.
- Ability to provide concrete examples of using AI to accelerate financial analysis, improve workflows, support reconciliation or reporting, reduce repetitive manual work, or reach answers more efficiently.
- Comfortable working iteratively with AI tools to refine outputs and turn manual financial processes into more efficient, repeatable workflows.
- Ability to identify opportunities for AI-assisted automation and partner with operations or development teams when more advanced implementation is required.
- Strong understanding of human verification, financial controls, and accountability when applying AI or automation to financial processes.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP.
- Healthcare, pharmacy, or another high-volume or regulated environment strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.

What Success Looks Like

The Senior Manager, Financial Operations owns the financial operations function and drives it to consistent, reliable execution. Billing, reconciliation, payment, and reporting workflows are completed accurately and on schedule, with clear ownership, deadlines, and accountability across the team.

Financial issues are identified early and driven through resolution, rather than simply flagged or carried forward. Leadership has confidence that billing is complete, payments are properly controlled, discrepancies are addressed, and financial processes are documented and consistently followed.

Success also means building an increasingly AI-first and automated financial operation—reducing unnecessary manual work, strengthening reconciliation and billing checks, improving exception reporting and payment tracking, and implementing appropriate verification and controls to maintain accuracy and accountability.
