Overview

In this role you will shape fire safety solutions across buildings and industrial facilities, applying performance-based engineering and code-compliant practices. You will work within AECOM Spain’s Building Services Engineering team to deliver multi-disciplinary projects and drive risk-informed design. You’ll collaborate in design reviews, coordination meetings, and system sizing to support safe, resilient environments. Responsabilidades

- Develop and review fire protection designs through concept, basic and detailed phases
- Perform fire risk assessments and support fire engineering studies
- Participate in multidisciplinary design coordination meetings and provide fire protection expertise
- Review contractor and vendor submissions for code and specification compliance
- Design and specify passive fire protection systems
- Review architectural/structural drawings for fire compartmentation




- Design and review active fire protection systems, including detection and alarm
- Prepare detection layouts, cause-and-effect matrices, and system narratives
- Coordinate detection strategies for high-risk environments
- Support system testing, commissioning, and acceptance activities
- Review integration with building management, security, and emergency systems
- Perform hydraulic calculations and assist with system sizing
- Review vendor calculations, submittals, and equipment selections

Requisitos principales

- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or a closely related discipline
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Minimum 3 years of relevant Fire Protection Design Engineering experience
- Experience with international and local codes/standards (NFPA, IFC/IBC, EN/BS, FM Global Data Sheets) and performance-based design
