Who we are looking for

We're looking for an experienced Human Resources Advisor to join our People & Wellbeing team. This is a varied generalist role with an initial focus on employee and industrial relations, injury management and return to work, and recruitment.

This is a full-time, two-year fixed-term position with a generous salary of $94,275 to $102,499 p.a. plus superannuation, based at our Warrnambool, Hamilton or Portland office. There may also be an opportunity to extend the contract to provide coverage beyond the initial two years.

Our People & Wellbeing team works across the full employee experience, supporting our people to be safe, healthy, engaged and able to perform at their best. You’ll apply your HR skills to meaningful work, collaborate with a supportive team and contribute to initiatives that shape how we work at Wannon Water.

Joining our team of Human Resources Advisors, you’ll provide practical advice to leaders and employees across Wannon Water. Your initial focus will be managing employee matters, supporting people returning to work after injury or illness, and helping leaders with recruitment. You’ll also share broader generalist HR work with the other Advisors. This role will suit someone who enjoys varied HR work and building strong relationships across the organisation.

What you'll be doing This is a hands-on HR role with a mix of specialist advice, case work and broader team projects.

On a day-to-day basis, you’ll:

- Provide advice and support on employee and industrial relations, performance management and workplace concerns and the application of our Enterprise Agreement and people policies.
- Manage injury and return to work matters, including workers’ compensation claims and support for employees with non-work-related injury or illness.
- Conduct workplace investigations and help leaders navigate sensitive matters, applying sound judgement and procedural fairness.
- Lead and coordinate end-to-end recruitment processes in partnership with hiring managers.




- Support leaders to respond to psychosocial hazards and contribute to a positive physical and psychological safety culture.
- Contribute to Enterprise Agreement bargaining, organisational change, policy improvements and other People & Wellbeing projects and initiatives.

Desired Skills and Experience

What you’ll bring We’re looking for someone with:

- Experience providing HR advice across a range of employee matters, with the ability to interpret and apply policies, Enterprise Agreements and relevant legislation.
- Experience managing sensitive or complex matters, ideally including investigations, injury management or return to work.
- Strong people skills, collaborative approach, and ability to work effectively with people at all levels of an organisation.
- The ability to build trusted relationships with leaders and employees while handling confidential information with care.
- Proven ability to take initiative, manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to influence outcomes respectfully and collaboratively.
- Clear communication, attention to detail and a collaborative approach to solving problems.

Experience in workplace investigations, injury management, return to work, and/or Enterprise Agreement bargaining would be valuable. Relevant qualifications are desirable.
