Want to build AI features that customers actually use?

At Alkimii, we’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer – AI & Data to join our Engineering team and help us turn data and AI into intelligent, customer-facing product experiences.

This isn’t a traditional Data Science role. You won’t be sitting on the sidelines producing reports or experimenting with models that never make it into production.

You’ll build and ship.

Working as part of our Product Engineering team, you’ll combine Ruby on Rails, SQL and modern AI technologies to turn the data behind Alkimii into proactive features that solve real problems for hospitality teams.

Think intelligent recommendations, forecasting and automation. Insights that find the customer rather than waiting for the customer to find them.

What will you be doing? ?

You’ll work at the intersection of Software Engineering, Data and AI , taking ideas from prototype all the way through to production.

You’ll

- Build AI-powered product features using Ruby, GraphQL and Vue
- Write complex SQL against our Redshift data warehouse
- Design APIs that bring analytical insights directly into the Alkimii product
- Develop capabilities using LLMs and other machine-learning services
- Build recommendation, forecasting and automation features
- Integrate AI into existing product workflows
- Improve data models where needed




- Build internal tools that help our teams work smarter
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering and Customer Success
- Experiment, iterate and, most importantly, ship

What are we looking for? ? You’ll probably thrive in this role if you have:

- Strong Ruby on Rails experience
- Excellent SQL skills
- Experience building and shipping production web applications
- Experience working with AWS
- Hands-on experience integrating LLMs and AI APIs
- A solid understanding of data modelling and analytics
- Strong product instincts and commercial awareness
- The ability to take ownership of a problem and move it forward

Python experience would be useful, but it isn’t essential. More than anything, we’re looking for someone who is curious, pragmatic and excited by turning new technology into useful software .

Someone who enjoys shipping products, not just talking about what could be built.

You’ve worked with some of the following:

- AI agents and agentic workflows
- Vector databases and embeddings
- Recommendation systems or forecasting
- MCP servers and modern AI tooling
- Prompt engineering and evaluation
- Redshift, dbt or Airflow
- Hospitality or workforce-management technology
