Redstone Search Group are working with a integral metals trading firm looking to hire a Senior Trader to join their expanding international presence, based in Europe.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

- Develop new international markets and establish new trade flows, taking ownership of new territories – ideally across Africa and Latin America – from initial market mapping and opportunity identification through to active trading.
- Build and develop long-term commercial relationships with steel mills, producers, distributors and industrial end-users, with a focus on generating sustainable and recurring business.
- Drive commercial opportunities across steel markets, while progressively identifying and developing opportunities across adjacent product areas, including aluminium and other non-ferrous metals.
- Analyse key market dynamics, including local demand, pricing, competition, freight costs,



tariffs and existing trade flows, to identify viable opportunities and areas where a strong competitive position can be established.
- Role reports to Managing Director.

Key Qualifications / Experience

- Minimum of 7 years’ trading experience within the metals industry, with a strong background in steel products and ideally direct experience or knowledge of flat steel products.
- Strong knowledge of the relevant regional market, particularly across Africa and/or Latin America, including an understanding of local market dynamics, customers, suppliers and trading practices.
- Well-established network within the metals industry, ideally including transferable relationships with customers, suppliers, producers and other key market participants that can support the development of new business.
- Proven business development experience, with an entrepreneurial track record of entering new markets, identifying commercial opportunities and building relationships from the ground up.
- Flexible location, with the role able to be performed remotely and requiring regular international travel. A European base would be preferred.
