We are looking for a developer specialised in migrating legacy applications written in Visual Basic to modern Python, with strong command of the latest AI-assisted development tools. The role has both a technical and strategic component: it is not simply about rewriting code, but about designing a robust and sustainable Python architecture for the long term.
Main Responsibilities
Analysis, documentation and in-depth understanding of existing Visual Basic codebases.
Systematic migration of VB modules to Python, ensuring functional equivalence and performance improvements.
Intensive use of AI tools (Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot and similar) to accelerate and validate the migration process.
Design of unit and integration tests to validate the equivalence of migrated code.
Technical documentation of the migration process and the new Python codebase.




Collaboration with the infrastructure team to ensure integration with existing systems.
Essential Requirements
Demonstrable experience in Visual Basic (VB6, VBA or VB.NET) and Python (3.x).
Proven experience in legacy code migration or modernisation projects.
Command of AI-assisted development tools: Claude API, Cursor, GitHub Copilot or similar.
High level of English (C1 or equivalent) – a test will be conducted.
Ability to work independently and make technical decisions.
Valued Experience
Knowledge of service-oriented or microservices architectures in Python.
Experience with Python frameworks (FastAPI, Django, Flask).
Familiarity with Linux infrastructure environments and version control systems (Git).
Experience in corporate environments with management systems or ERPs.
