The Andalusian Centre for Molecular Biology and Regenerative Medicine (CABIMER) is a pioneering multidisciplinary biomedical research space in Spain, integrating basic and applied research with the aim of translating scientific findings into direct improvements in citizens' health and quality of life. CABIMER is the result of an alliance between the Regional Ministry of Presidency, Health and Emergencies and the Regional Ministry of University, Research and Innovation of the Regional Government of Andalusia (Junta de Andalucía), the State Agency Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), the University of Seville, and the Pablo de Olavide University.

This partnership facilitates the connection between CABIMER researchers, professionals from the Andalusian Public Health System, and the business environment, thereby enhancing the transfer of scientific breakthroughs to clinical practice. Located in the Cartuja Science and Technology Park,



CABIMER features a building of over 9,000 m2 equipped with the latest advances in scientific equipment, representing a total investment exceeding €15M. The building houses 20 laboratories and various shared core facilities distributed across three floors, accommodating and enabling the work of approximately 170 research professionals from its constituent institutions.

Dr. Gauthier’s research group focuses on the development of innovative cellular, viral, and pharmacological therapies targeting the root cause of Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) and improving patient health and well-being. To this end, the research projects aim to decipher the fundamental mechanisms promoting the survival and regeneration of islet beta cells, which include cross-talk with the immune system. The long-term objective is the translation of this basic research into the clinic.

Within the group, the project entitled "INVESTIGATING THE ROLE OF VDAC1 IN TYPE 1-DIABETES" is carried out, funded through an ABARCEO collaboration agreement. This project focuses on the preclinical evaluation of novel pharmaceutical compounds for the treatment of type 1 diabetes,



combining in vivo studies in murine models with immunological and histological analyses to assess therapeutic efficacy and mechanisms of action.

- University Degree (Licenciatura or Grado) in Science or any equivalent qualification recognized or approved by the competent educational administration.
- Minimum of 2 years of research experience with mice.
- Hold accreditation for "Function C or D" for animal handling.
- Be in possession of the regulated documentation for legal employment in Spain.
- Submit the documentation, in a single file, proving compliance with the aforementioned requirements at the time of application (academic and training degrees, work history record (vida laboral), or equivalent supporting documentation for applicants without Spanish nationality, along with DNI/NIE or equivalent).

Specific Requirements
- Experience in preclinical models of diabetes or other metabolic diseases.
- Experience in routine animal procedures, including handling, injection administration, blood collection, and health status monitoring.
- Experience in immunohistology and immunohistochemistry, including tissue processing, sample sectioning, staining, and microscopy.
- Experience in tissue collection, organ harvesting, and sample preparation.
- Experience in measuring physiological and biochemical parameters (e.g., blood glucose, hematology, and serum biomarkers).
- Experience in data collection and analysis, as well as laboratory record keeping (e.g., Excel, GraphPad Prism, or similar software). xcskxlj
