Job purpose: This role supports the International Organization for Migration (IOM) by assisting in the maintenance of facilities and ensuring their operational readiness. The position contributes to the smooth functioning of IOM's operations by proactively identifying and addressing technical issues, conducting routine inspections, and managing supplies effectively. By ensuring that facilities are well-maintained and functional, the role directly supports the organization's mandate to assist in managing migration challenges and upholding the dignity and well-being of migrants. The position plays a crucial part in maintaining a safe and efficient working environment for all staff and stakeholders involved in IOM's mission.

Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of this role include assisting in monitoring the condition of facilities and supporting daily maintenance tasks.



The technician will be responsible for identifying and reporting any potential technical problems to ensure timely resolution. This includes assisting with routine inspections to proactively identify maintenance needs. Furthermore, the role involves the appropriate and effective use of supplies and consumables to prevent overstocking or undue loss. The technician will also provide technical specifications for equipment and goods required for daily repairs. Finally, the position requires performing any other assigned duties to support the facility's upkeep.

Education: A secondary school diploma is required, along with three years of relevant work experience. A university degree in a related field is considered an advantage. Professional knowledge in building maintenance, facilities management, or related disciplines is also beneficial.

Work experience: A minimum of three years of relevant prior work experience is required. Experience working in a multicultural environment is valued. Previous experience in electrical and/or hydraulic maintenance work is particularly desirable. Immediate availability and willingness to work in an emergency response operational environment are also advantageous. xcskxlj
