About the Position
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled postdoctoral researcher to join the Mucosal Immunology Lab at the University of Barcelona. This fully-funded 2.5 year position is supported by a CPP23 grant from the Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades and offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting‑edge translational research.
The selected candidate will lead in my laboratory a collaborative public‑private project involving the University of Barcelona (UB), the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG), the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), and OrikineBio. The project focuses on a potential breakthrough therapy for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for design and conduct in vitro functional assays using primary cells from IBD patients and apply novel systems Immunology approaches to identify predictive biomarkers of response to treatment. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting‑edge translational research and to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across academia and industry to advance the development of engineered cytokine‑based therapies. The candidate will be also involved in other ongoing projects in the lab related to IBD.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in Immunology or a closely related field




Proven expertise in in vitro functional immunological assays with primary immune cells, protein analytics, and multiparametric flow cytometry
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Advanced written and oral communication skills in English.
Experience in human immunology or research related to inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
A record of relevant scientific publications in high‑impact journals
Experience with single cell RNA sequencing experiment
Experience with project management

Selection process
The specific committee will agree upon an award proposal and draw up a prioritized shortlist of candidates who have achieved a minimum of 80 pointsor declare the call for applications null and void if none of the applicants reach the minimum score.
The award proposal will be published in the UB's electronic office and must include the total scores of the candidates that have received a total of at least 80 points.
