The mission

Build a viable, right-sized security system that protects what matters without slowing the company down.

What you'll do

- Diagnose our current landscape, then build the security system. The solution designed for this company, not a replayed version of a previous one.
- Own security risk in two languages: business and technical.
- Make sharp build-vs-buy calls knowing when it's a tool problem, a habit problem, or no problem.
- Embed security as a partner, not a blocker.
- Own the policy and guardrails for safe, company-wide AI tool adoption.
- Hire and grow the first security team.

What you bring

- 8+ years hands-on in security, with real projects you designed, implemented, and stuck around to see work.
- Real systems experience: either a security-engineering career from the start,



or a transition from sysadmin/support/network engineering. You understand infrastructure from the inside.
- Proven experience hiring and structuring a team (2+ people).
- Experience building a security function from an unclear state, not running an existing one.
- Sharp read on the security product market — tool vs. simpler method vs. habit problem, with real examples.
- A partner's operating style working through engineering teams, not above them.
- English and Russian language at least B2 level or higher.

Nice to have

- B2C, SaaS, gamedev, or mobile background, company size up to ~1,000.
- Experience with external security providers.
- Experience as a founding/first security hire elsewhere.

Not a fit if

- Your recent years were policy, reporting, and committees and not hands-on systems work.
- Your default mode is hierarchy: mandatory sign-offs, blocking by default.
- You'd rather avoid building and leading a team.
