The opportunity

Our client is strengthening a growing Energy Transition team within its Digital Business Solutions department. The team manages applications supporting changing energy needs, including smart metering, local production, energy communities and vulnerable customers. As Functional Analyst, you will connect business stakeholders and development partners, helping deliver reliable digital solutions from requirements through testing, implementation and ongoing support.

The sector

The utilities sector is evolving rapidly as smart meters, renewable generation, energy communities and electric vehicles reshape how energy is produced, consumed and managed. Digital platforms, connected applications and data hubs are becoming increasingly important for customer engagement, operational efficiency and inclusive access to energy. This creates an engaging environment for analysts working at the intersection of technology, business and the energy transition.

What you'll do

- Analyse business needs, facilitate workshops and align stakeholders on suitable solutions.
- Translate requirements into functional designs and support end-to-end delivery.
- Review technical solutions against the IT architecture and application landscape.
- Coordinate test plans, test cases, UAT and implementation activities.
- Manage applications, documentation, bugs, incidents and second-line problem support.

What you bring

- At least five years’ demonstrable experience as a Functional Analyst.




- Fluency in French or Dutch, with good working knowledge of the other national language.
- Experience in requirements analysis, stakeholder workshops and translating business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications.
- Experience delivering API-integrated, cloud-based, mobile and web applications from requirements through go-live.
- Experience with UML, BPMN, modelling tools, test planning, test cases and UAT coordination.

The assignment terms

- Independent contractor or employee through Ariad, working with our client.
- Full-time assignment.
- Location: Brussels.
- Working arrangement: hybrid.
