Experteer Overview
As Staff AI Engineer, lead the technical direction and execution of Typeform’s Research Flow and AI platforms. You will own cross-team architecture, drive production AI systems, and connect AI capabilities into a reliable customer experience. You’ll shape generative AI applications, enterprise RAG, and scalable ML pipelines, while mentoring engineers and raising engineering standards. This role blends hands-on coding with strategic influence to advance Typeform’s AI-first products.

• Define technical direction and delivery priorities with product and engineering leaders
• Lead architectural decisions across AI-assisted study design, adaptive conversations, and research synthesis
• Identify constraints, dependencies, and address them early
• Design and build generative AI applications using LLMs, RAG, vector search, tools, and agentic systems
• Prototype, review, and ship production code; lead cross-team initiatives
• Create reusable services and APIs to deliver AI capabilities consistently
• Balance rapid delivery with reliability, scalability, and maintainability
• Guide ML service architecture and workflows using Python, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS
• Design robust data pipelines (Kafka, Airflow) and retrieval/vector search patterns
• Establish evaluation, monitoring, and deployment patterns for AI systems
• Mentor engineers and improve team practices around testing, observability,



security, and incident response
• Communicate technical concepts and trade-offs to technical and non-technical partners
• Shape broader AI direction at Typeform through Research Flow learnings

Responsabilidades
• Significant production ML/AI systems experience with visible technical leadership
• Track record leading complex engineering initiatives across teams
• Strong Python and software engineering skills with production contribution
• Experience designing production services/APIs (e.g., FastAPI)
• Practical experience with generative AI, LLMs, RAG, tool use, agentic systems
• Strong understanding of enterprise RAG (retrieval, embeddings, chunking, reranking, evaluation, monitoring)
• Experience defining evaluation approaches and using evidence for decisions
• Experience with PyTorch and tools like LangChain or LangGraph
• Cloud architecture experience (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform)
• CI/CD practices and familiarity with AWS services (SageMaker or Bedrock)
• Event-driven processing, vector databases, ML lifecycle tools (Kafka, MLflow)
• Observability and production issue diagnosis (Datadog, OpenSearch)
• Ability to influence technical decisions across teams without formal authority
• Experience mentoring engineers and improving team effectiveness
