Account Executive (AE) - Spain

WE’RE HIRING: Account Executive (AE)

IMPORTANT: Applications must be based in Madrid, have a legal right to work in Spain, and meet the language requirements: native-level Spanish and advanced English. This is a 100% office-based role in Madrid, with regular customer visits.

About Payflow

- At Payflow, we’re building the future of employee financial wellbeing through Salary on Demand and Flexible Benefits products.
- Our mission is simple: give people access to their earned salary whenever they need it — as easily as ordering an Uber, Glovo, or starting Netflix.
- Through Salary on Demand, employees can access their earned wages instantly instead of waiting until payday, while our Flexible Benefits products help companies offer smarter financial benefits tailored to their teams.
- We’re a Y Combinator-backed company, one of the top startups in Spain, and we’re just getting started.

Why this role matters

- As an Account Executive, you’ll be responsible for turning qualified opportunities into Payflow customers.
- You’ll own your territory, manage your pipeline, lead high-value conversations with senior decision-makers, and drive New MRR by closing deals with Mid-Market and Enterprise companies, ranging from 100 to 10,000+ employees.
- As a quota carrier, you’ll have direct responsibility for delivering monthly growth and contributing to Payflow’s Sales objectives.
- You’ll also collaborate closely with our SDR, Marketing, Implementations, and Customer Success teams to ensure a smooth journey from the first sales conversation through implementation and handover.

What you’ll do

- Convert Qualified Leads into Customers: Lead prospects through the sales cycle, from the initial demo to contract signature.
- Own your quota and pipeline: Take responsibility for your monthly objectives, manage your pipeline, and deliver consistent growth.
- Manage multiple opportunities in parallel: Prioritize high-potential opportunities and focus your time where it can have the biggest impact.
- Forecast accurately: Keep your CRM up to date and provide reliable forecasts to ensure predictable revenue.
- Lead high-level conversations: Engage with General Managers, Business Owners, HR Directors, CFOs, and other senior stakeholders, understanding their needs and speaking their language.
- Work with the Implementations team: Support customers through the implementation process, including payroll integrations, and take ownership of a successful handover.
- Collaborate with Customer Success: Work closely with the CS team to ensure customers understand the value Payflow brings to their employees.
- Mentor SDRs:

Share your sales knowledge and experience to help develop and support our Sales Development team.
- Be a hunter when needed: Proactively generate opportunities and take ownership when additional pipeline is required to achieve your objectives.

- Objection handling: Confident communicator with strong objection-handling and negotiation skills.
- Growth mindset: Keen to learn, improve, experiment, and take feedback.
- Execution: Hands-on, proactive, and focused on getting things done.
