Role- Fortinet Network Security Engineer (Contract)

Work Mode- Remote

Engagement Type: Project-based Assignment; B2B Contract (Outside IR35)

Duration: 6 months with auto renew

Our client is looking for an experienced Fortinet Network Security Engineer to administer, and support enterprise network security environments. The role covers FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiAuthenticator/NAC, FortiSASE, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer, with a strong focus on security, connectivity, identity, and operational resilience.

The successful candidate should be comfortable working across both network security and hands-on Fortinet administration, including troubleshooting complex infrastructure and security incidents.

Key Deliverables-

FortiGate & Network Security

Administer and maintain FortiGate firewalls and security infrastructure.

Design and troubleshoot firewall policies, routing, BGP, OSPF, Static Routing, SD-WAN, and HA deployments.

Configure and manage IPS, Application Control, and Web Filtering.

Deploy and support SSL VPN and IPSec VPN solutions.

Investigate and resolve network security incidents and connectivity issues.

Support secure and resilient enterprise network architectures.

FortiSwitch & FortiAP

Deploy and administer FortiSwitch environments.

Deploy and optimise FortiAP wireless infrastructure.

Configure VLAN, NAC, and network access controls.

Implement secure wireless authentication, including WPA3.

Troubleshoot wired and wireless connectivity issues.

FortiAuthenticator & NAC





Configure and administer FortiAuthenticator/NAC solutions.

Manage RADIUS and TACACS+ authentication services.

Integrate with LDAP and Active Directory.

Implement and manage MFA solutions.

Manage certificate lifecycle and authentication policies.

Support SSO and user identity services.

FortiSASE & Zero Trust

Deploy and support FortiSASE and secure remote access solutions.

Configure and administer ZTNA (Zero Trust Network Access) policies.

Manage Secure Web Gateway (SWG) capabilities.

Support CASB administration and visibility.

Integrate endpoints with SASE services.

Monitor performance and troubleshoot SASE connectivity and security issues.

FortiManager & FortiAnalyzer

Manage FortiGate environments centrally using FortiManager.

Configure and maintain policy packages and deployments.

Support ADOM design and administration.

Manage configuration backups, changes, and operational controls.

Use FortiAnalyzer for log collection, reporting, analytics, and security monitoring.

Troubleshoot and maintain centralised Fortinet management environments.

Requirements-

Strong enterprise experience with Fortinet network security technologies.

Hands-on expertise with FortiGate administration and operations.

Strong understanding of firewall policy design,



routing, BGP, OSPF, Static Routing, SD-WAN, and HA.

Practical experience with IPS, Application Control, Web Filtering, SSL VPN, and IPSec VPN.

Experience with FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiLink, VLAN, NAC, and WPA3.

Experience with FortiAuthenticator, RADIUS, TACACS+, LDAP, Active Directory, MFA, certificates, and SSO.

Strong knowledge of FortiSASE, ZTNA, Secure Web Gateway, and CASB.

Experience with FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer, including ADOMs, policy management, logging, reporting, and analytics.

Strong network troubleshooting and security incident investigation skills.

Ability to work independently while collaborating with technical and business teams.

Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
