About Human Edge

Human Edge is a Swiss-based asset management firm founded by Mads N. S. Pedersen in 2019. We manage single-asset-class and multi-asset investment strategies across equities and fixed income, and we run our portfolios on an in-house IT platform. Combining our Dynamic Allocation Portfolios with our proprietary algorithms, we have consistently outperformed peers and direct competitors.

Before founding Human Edge, Mads N. S. Pedersen was chair of the investment committee at Danske Bank Asset Management until joining Barclays in 2007. From 2011 he was head of asset allocation at UBS, where, with his team in the UBS CIO office, he managed the strategies for the firm's USD 100bn+ mandate book and USD 2trn+ advisory book, and launched the first generation of Dynamic Allocation Portfolios in 2015.

Our in-house portfolio construction system is built and maintained by our co-founder Oliver Dressler, who holds a PhD in quantitative chemistry from ETH Zurich.

We manage investment funds and mandates for an international client base and offer solutions in USD, CHF and EUR. We have a well-documented record of delivering solid performance while actively managing risk. Our flagship products rank at the top of their peer groups, and on Bloomberg our fund ranked in the top 2% in its first three years live (2023–25).

We are now opening our second office, in Madrid, where the focus will be on working with our CIO to maintain performance and grow the business. To support our investment activities and this expansion, we are looking for two interns to join the Madrid office.



We aim to fill these intern positions in the coming months. The intention is to grow the team in Madrid and there is a clear route to convert a successful internship into a permanent position.

The Roles

We are hiring interns with an interest in both financial markets and the commercial side of asset management. Depending on your background and strengths, your role may lean more towards:

- Portfolio Management: investment research, portfolio construction, performance analysis and client materials
- Business Development: client research, outreach, presentations, market development, and supporting the growth of our funds and mandates

Both profiles will gain exposure to the investment and business development sides of the firm. We are looking for candidates who want to understand and contribute to how portfolios are managed, and how an asset management business grows, develops products and serves clients. Both roles will involve communication about our existing funds and mandates, their positioning and performance, and preparing client presentations, pitch books and other investment materials. In addition, each role has its own focus:
- Portfolio Management
- Support our position-taking through research and analysis across equities,



fixed income and multi-asset strategies
- Assist with portfolio monitoring, performance analysis and investment reporting
- Business Development
- Research prospective clients, markets and distribution opportunities
- Support business development across Switzerland, and later Europe and Latin America

What We Are Looking For

- A bachelor's or master's degree, completed or in progress, in finance, economics, business, data science, physics, statistics, mathematics or a related field
- Ambition and a drive to deliver results
- The wish to work directly with the firm's founder and CIO
- A strong interest in financial markets, asset management and portfolio management
- A commercial mindset and interest in working with clients
- Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills
- Initiative, and comfort working independently in a small international team
- Fluency in at least two of English, Spanish and German

Practical Details

- Location: Madrid, hybrid
- Duration: approximately six months
- Full-time or part-time, depending on availability
- Compensation according to work time and delivery
- Potential to move into a permanent role for the right candidate
