Are you a COBOL / Mainframe Engineer ready to work on a project where legacy technology meets Cloud, Data & Automation ?
We’re looking for 3 engineers to join a major banking project:
? 2x Mainframe / COBOL Engineers
Strong Mainframe & COBOL background, with a focus on analysing legacy systems and processes.
? 1x Mainframe / Automation & Data Engineer A more modern focus on Python, automation, BigQuery, GCP, APIs & data . Mainframe experience can be lighter for this role.
? What you’ll be doing
- Analyse complex Mainframe / legacy ecosystems
- Identify and understand existing components and processes
- Extract & transform data from Mainframe → BigQuery
- Build automation and optimisation opportunities
- Develop scripts using Python
- Work with APIs, GCP & data technologies
- Contribute to Looker Studio dashboards
- Collaborate with technical & functional teams in an Agile banking environment
? What we’re looking for ✔️ 2–4 years’ experience with COBOL / Mainframe
✔️ Mainframe ecosystem knowledge
✔️ Legacy process & component analysis
✔️ SQL / PL-SQL
✔️ Data extraction & transformation
✔️ Basic API / integration knowledge For the Automation & Data role, we’re particularly interested in:
? Python
☁️ GCP
? BigQuery
? Automation
? APIs
? Data Analytics
Bonus points: ETL, Docker/Kubernetes, Looker Studio, DevOps, Data Analytics or previous banking experience.
