Role Description The Senior Auditor role at Funaro & Co. is a full-time, on-site position located in New York.

The Senior

Auditor will plan and execute audit engagements, perform detailed testing of financial statements, evaluate internal controls, and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations. This role includes supervising and mentoring junior staff, reviewing their work for accuracy and completeness, and providing constructive feedback.

and recommend practical improvements to processes and controls. The position also involves contributing to engagement planning, managing deadlines, and supporting continuous improvement in audit methodologies.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of auditing standards, accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS), and internal control frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience leading audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data, identify risks, and develop evidence-based conclusions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to clients and colleagues.
- Proven capability to supervise, coach, and support junior team members in a collaborative environment.
- High level of attention to detail, professional judgment, and ethical standards.
- Proficiency with audit and accounting software, along with strong general computer skills (e.g., Excel, Word).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
- Experience with cross-border or international clients, and familiarity with U.S./E.U. regulatory environments is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in New York and collaborate with teams across multiple offices and time zones.
