You will help build, integrate, document and own the software platform supporting multiple IVD products.

Your Mission

Build Regulated Software That Reaches Patients

We're looking for a full-stack software engineer to join our small, high-impact team and help build the digital platform behind our point-of-care diagnostic products for acute and emergency care. The role spans mobile, web, cloud integration and third-party SDKs across several products that share a common architecture.

You'll work closely with our Head of Product / Product Owner and external technology partners, building, integrating and industrialising regulated digital products across three major grant-funded development programs. The current technology stack includes:

- React Native / Expo for mobile (iOS & Android)
- React for web
- A cloud backend platform integrated within our QMS-controlled IVD software architecture (provided by an external partner)
- Third-party SDKs and APIs (provided by external technology partners)

Comfort working across both the React Native/Expo and React web ecosystems is highly valuable. This role will directly contribute to decisions on our frontend and system architecture, including native mobile vs. web-based approaches, reusable components, interfaces and long-term maintainability.

Responsibilities

- Build and maintain the shared digital architecture across ABCDx diagnostic products, including mobile applications, web portal, APIs, cloud integration and third-party SDKs, reusing common components where appropriate
- Own implementation and software architecture decisions, including code quality, testing strategy, technical debt, CI/CD, release management and evaluation of native mobile vs. web-based product experiences
- Own the technical interface with external software, cloud and SDK providers,



ensuring ABCDx retains sufficient understanding, documentation, version control and ability to maintain its regulated products over their lifecycle
- Work within our medical device / IVD software lifecycle and QMS, contributing to software requirements, architecture, traceability, verification and validation, risk management, cybersecurity and controlled change and release documentation
- Collaborate with Product, Regulatory & Quality, Clinical, Innovation & Operations, and external development partners to deliver software aligned with clinical, regulatory and grant milestones
- Support clinical deployment and continuous product improvement, including version-controlled releases, usability testing, troubleshooting, bug fixing, data-flow issues and changes arising from clinical and field feedback

Profile - What we need:

- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Strong command of TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Solid hands-on experience with Expo and/or React Native, as well as React and Vite for web.
- Comfort integrating and building on top of third-party SDKs, APIs and cloud platforms: you don't need to build everything from scratch, but you do need to read, understand, extend and debug code and systems built by others.
- Ability to reason about and contribute to system architecture across an interconnected full-stack system: mobile app, web portal, APIs, cloud backend, algorithms and external SDK integration.
- Working knowledge of Node.js or equivalent backend technologies is a plus, particularly for API and backend-adjacent integration work
- Experience driving the CI/CD pipeline, working with GitHub and GitHub Actions.
- Prior experience in a regulated industry (preferably MedTech, IVD or digital health) is a strong plus. Familiarity with IEC 62304, ISO 13485, IVDR/FDA software expectations, structured documentation, traceability and controlled change management is desirable; specific regulatory certifications are not required.
- Knowledge of AWS and cloud-based backend services is a plus.
- 3+ years of relevant professional software engineering experience
- Comfortable working in a small, fast-moving MedTech company where the role requires a hands-on, proactive and adaptable mindset, with the ability to take ownership and contribute across multiple projects and areas as priorities evolve.

English: fluent, essential. Spanish: fluent, a plus.
