Role Overview

You will own the end‑to‑end planning, optimisation and delivery of fixed‑network lines, circuits and customer connections (xDSL, xPON, P2P‑fibre). Responsibilities include routing design, capacity analysis, resource allocation, change‑order creation, documentation, commissioning support and quality assurance.

Core Responsibilities

- Perform routing and service planning for new and existing customer connections.
- Design fixed‑network lines and circuits, allocating ports, interfaces and time‑slots.
- Analyse current network topology, inventory and capacity; monitor utilisation and identify bottlenecks.
- Determine technically optimal network routes and optimise transport‑ and access‑network resources.
- Create switching and change orders; prepare clear implementation instructions.
- Maintain up‑to‑date planning documentation, connectivity records and inventory databases.
- Validate planning data before hand‑over to field teams.
- Support commissioning activities, troubleshoot technical queries and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Contribute to network migrations, upgrades and large‑scale roll‑outs.
- Perform quality‑control checks against defined planning guidelines and ensure KPI targets are met.





Required Technical Skills & Knowledge

- Fixed‑network line and circuit planning (transport & access networks).
- In‑depth understanding of xDSL, xPON and point‑to‑point fibre concepts.
- Routing, service and capacity planning, including port and time‑slot allocation.
- Familiarity with network topology and inventory management systems (OSS/NMS).
- Experience with work‑management platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy).
- Ability to create and manage switching/change orders.
- Knowledge of telecom commissioning processes and quality‑assurance practices.

Desired Profile

- Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in fixed‑network planning within a carrier or large service‑provider environment.
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent numerical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, operations and product teams.
- Excellent written and spoken English; additional language skills (German, French, etc.) are a plus.
