As Senior CFD Modeller you will lead complex smoke and fire CFD studies for performance-based designs in transportation and buildings, coordinating multiteam delivery across Arup offices. You shape methodologies, drive automation, and mentor engineers while contributing to cutting-edge CFD research. This role blends technical leadership with collaboration on international projects that enhance safety and sustainability. You’ll join a purpose-driven team solving real-world challenges in tunnel ventilation and smoke management.
Compensaciones / Ventajas
• Lead CFD studies for smoke movement and smoke control system design using FDS
• Support performance-based fire engineering designs through advanced numerical simulations
• Conduct tunnel ventilation and smoke dispersion analyses for road, rail, and metro projects using 3D CFD and 1D tools (IDA Tunnel, SES)
• Perform smoke management and evacuation assessments for stations and complex buildings




• Coordinate technical delivery with multidisciplinary teams and CFD specialists globally
• Mentor and support junior engineers in project execution and development
• Contribute to new CFD methodologies, best-practice guidance, and automated workflows
Responsabilidades
• At least 5 years of experience in CFD simulations related to fire engineering, smoke movement, or tunnel ventilation
• Strong experience with FDS and PyroSim
• Experience with IDA Tunnel and/or SES for ventilation modelling
• xghoner Proficiency in NFPA 130 and NFPA 502-compliant design contexts
• Proven track record leading complex CFD projects and coordinating teams
• Python programming for automation of CFD tasks
• Experience with AutoCAD, Rhino or similar 3D CAD tools
• Fluent in English and Spanish
