Overview

As a Data Engineer at Talan, you will design and build scalable data pipelines and platforms in Azure and Databricks to enable analytics and data-driven decisions. You will work with large datasets, apply modern data architectures, and contribute to data modelling and governance. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into robust, scalable solutions that support business intelligence and transformation initiatives.

This role offers exposure to cutting-edge cloud data technologies in a general consulting environment.

Responsabilidades

Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks

Develop efficient data processing and transformation solutions with Python and Databricks

Handle large, complex datasets with a focus on data quality and performance

Contribute to modern data architectures within the Azure ecosystem

Apply Medallion Architecture principles to build robust data solutions

Support Data Vault and Business Vault architectures on Databricks on Azure

Work with Microsoft Fabric and OneLake,



leveraging shortcuts to access data across platforms

Contribute to data modelling in Azure Data Warehouse and related analytics environments

Collaborate with Data Architects, Developers, Analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions

Identify opportunities to improve processing, architecture, performance and automation

Ensure solutions follow best practices for scalability, security, maintainability and data governance

Requisitos principales Experience creating data pipelines using Python on Databricks

Experience with curated and product layers of data engineering including Data Vault 2.0, Kimball (dimensional) and 3NF

Understanding of schema evolution, slowly changing dimensions, and data harmonisation

Practical experience using Declarative Automation Bundles (DABs) for deployment

Experience with git repositories and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub and ADO preferred)

Experience developing pipelines in an IDE environment (VSCode preferred)
