Overview In this role you will define architectural guidelines for Vodafone Group International IP backhaul networks, shaping how IP/MPLS, SDN and intent-based connectivity are designed and operated. You'll lead technology principles, roadmaps, and standard data models, partnering with cross‐functional teams to deliver converged, secure services for mobile and fixed networks. You'll act as a recognised SME, drive NPD efforts, and influence budgeting and KPI definition to optimise transport backhaul.

This is a strategic, high-impact role at the core of Vodafone's general network.

Responsabilidades Define architectural and planning guidelines for IP backhaul networks across mobile and fixed services

Define technology principles and roadmaps for IP/MPLS networks in engineering and service domains

Define SDN principles and roadmaps for transport and service domains

Standardise data model structures and microservices for orchestration of transport connectivity

Provide thought leadership as SME for multi-service networking and converged solutions

Lead and support NPD activities for mobile and fixed services

Interface with OpCos,



Group PM, Group Enterprise Technology, Sales, IT and suppliers

Input to budget planning related to KTLO and transformation

Define standard KPIs for IP backhaul traffic and efficiency and monitor deviations

Document and analyse complex transformational planning of transport backhaul networks

Requisitos principales Deep knowledge of Internet and IP/MPLS network technology (MPLS, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, Ethernet, VPNs, IPv6, MEF services)

Strong SDN knowledge (RESTCONF, NETCONF, PCEP, BGP-LS, gRPC Telemetry, Yang)

Programming and automation skills (Python, Ansible, Puppet)

5+ years of technical experience in IP architecture, design, testing or operation

CCIE (or equivalent) certification preferred

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Security best practices awareness across service provider IP/MPLS domains

Experience with traffic and KPI indicators on IP/MPLS networks

Thought leadership in emerging tech like SDN and NFV

Experience with external customer engagements

Understanding of HW/SW lifecycle and real-world operation excellent communication leadership and stakeholder management thought leadership

IP/MPLS technologies (LDP, RSVP, SR, BGP, ISIS, OSPF)

Ethernet QoS and OAM
