As a Staff Software Engineer at Cloudera, you will design and own high-performance Rust infrastructure that sits in the data path across Kubernetes-based environments. You'll shape security-critical systems, define architecture, and drive cross-team guidance to deliver scalable, low-latency data services. This is a hands-on, impact-focused role with a strong emphasis on correctness, security, and observability.

Responsabilidades Build and own Rust-based infrastructure services (reverse proxies, credential brokers, log collectors) in the data path, from design to production

Implement and verify authentication and access control with thorough testing (property-based and fuzz tests)

Design new infrastructure components, define module boundaries and memory budgets, document tradeoffs

Develop distributed telemetry and log collection, with structured tracing and health endpoints





Provide cross-team systems guidance, conduct performance reviews, advise on streaming patterns and caching

Drive design documents for new components, evaluate make-vs-buy decisions, define testing strategies

Requisitos principales 8+ years of professional software engineering experience

≥3 years building performance-critical or security-critical systems (proxies, storage engines, network services)

Production Rust experience, async Rust, multi-crate workspaces, tokio/hyper ecosystem

Strong networking, memory management, streaming/backpressure, concurrency fundamentals

Security-focused development with authentication protocols and secure input handling

Kubernetes experience, operator pattern, Helm, cloud-native infra

Advanced testing approaches (property-based testing, integration testing, fuzz testing)

Bsc/Msc in a related field or equivalent experience cross-team collaboration systems thinking attention to security and correctness

Rust production services async Rust, tokio, hyper

Kubernetes deployment and operation
