About the role
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Manager to play a key role in promoting a positive, informed and preventative culture of health, safety, wellbeing and compliance across JRF.
Reporting to the Workplace Lead, you will act as JRF's Competent Person, providing expert advice, guidance and assurance to colleagues, managers and senior leaders across the organisation. Working closely with our external Health & Safety partner, you will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of our health and safety framework, ensuring compliance arrangements remain effective, proportionate and aligned with legislative requirements and organisational needs.
This is a varied and influential role where you will manage and develop JRF's Health & Safety Management System, oversee audits and inspections, support incident investigations,



monitor performance and provide meaningful reporting and insight to leadership teams. You will also chair the Health & Safety Forum, helping to drive engagement, accountability and continuous improvement across the organisation.
In addition, you will support JRF's environmental compliance responsibilities, including regulatory submissions and sustainability initiatives, helping us further develop our environmental and ESG ambitions whilst ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. As part of a small and collaborative Workplace Team, you will contribute to wider workplace projects and support the delivery of high-quality workplace services when required.
