This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior System Engineer (Virtual Private Cloud Team) based in Spain.

This is a senior systems engineering role focused on building and operating the core networking layer of a large-scale cloud platform.
You will work on virtual private networking that enables reliable connectivity across distributed datacenter environments.
The role combines high-level control-plane development in Go with low-level dataplane and systems engineering, primarily involving C and open-source technologies.
You will contribute to secure networking services including virtual networks, load balancers, firewalls, security groups, and connectivity features.
A key focus will be improving scalability, resilience, performance, and stability across critical cloud infrastructure.
You will investigate challenging networking, datapath, kernel, and performance issues while collaborating with experienced engineers across the platform.

Accountabilities
- Develop and operate the Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) networking layer that provides reliable connectivity for cloud workloads.
- Design and implement scalable and resilient networking services for virtualized cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain the control plane, primarily using Go.
- Contribute to the development and integration of dataplane components, primarily written in C and based on open-source networking technologies.
- Improve the scalability, reliability, and operational stability of core cloud networking services.
- Develop networking functionality such as IPv6 support, service endpoints, VPC peering, and Layer 7 load balancing.
