Job overview:
As HUC’s most senior nurse and clinical quality leader, you will set the strategic direction for our nursing and Allied Health Professional workforce and embed a culture of clinical excellence across all services. You will be the visible guardian of patient safety, safeguarding, infection prevention and control, and clinical governance, providing board-level assurance to regulators, commissioners and the Board.

Main duties and responsibilities:
Provide strategic clinical and operational leadership for HUC’s nursing and AHP workforce, setting standards that promote clinical excellence and patient-centred care.
Lead delivery of the Quality Strategy, owning clinical governance, incident reporting, risk management, audit and learning from harm to drive continuous improvement.
Hold organisational accountability for safeguarding (adults and children) and infection prevention and control, ensuring compliance with national legislation and best practice.
Ensure regulatory compliance (CQC, NHS England, UKHSA), prepare inspection evidence and provide board-level assurance on safety, quality and mandated reports (e.g. Quality Account).
