Accounting ManagerNorthernlight Insurance and Surety CompanyFull-Time Contract Position Northernlight Insurance and Surety Company is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the company’s accounting operations and help strengthen its accounting processes and controls.This is a hands-on position requiring strong QuickBooks Online (QBO) expertise and the ability to manage the full accounting cycle independently. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for day-to-day accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, and oversight of one team member responsible primarily for invoicing.The successful candidate will also play an important role in evaluating existing accounting practices, refining workflows, and establishing new processes and controls where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the full accounting cycle within QuickBooks Online (QBO)

Lead the month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations,



and review of financial results

Maintain the general ledger and financial records in accordance with IFRS

Oversee Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), invoicing, collections, and payment processes

Perform and review bank, balance sheet, and other account reconciliations

Ensure transactions are accurately classified, supported, and recorded on a timely basis

Review existing accounting processes and implement improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and consistency

Develop and document accounting procedures, workflows, and internal controls as needed

Supervise and manage one accounting team member responsible primarily for invoicing

Prepare and support management reporting and financial analysis

Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, and other professional partners as required

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
