About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to contribute to critical research in Infectious Diseases within their state-of-the-art laboratory in Queenstown. This fellowship focuses on investigating novel mechanisms of pathogen resistance, host-pathogen interactions, and the development of new therapeutic or preventative strategies. You will conduct independent research, contribute to grant writing, and mentor junior researchers, working within a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment. Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute advanced research projects focused on understanding infectious disease mechanisms and developing novel interventions.
- Perform molecular and cellular biology experiments, including cell culture, molecular cloning, and protein analysis.
- Utilize advanced techniques in virology, bacteriology, or immunology relevant to infectious diseases.




- Analyze and interpret experimental data, present findings at lab meetings and scientific conferences.
- Contribute to manuscript preparation for publication in high-impact scientific journals.
- Collaborate with senior scientists and other team members on research initiatives.

Requirements
- Ph.D. in Microbiology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, or a related field, with a strong publication record.
- Demonstrated experience in infectious disease research, with specific expertise in a relevant pathogen or host response area.
- Proficiency in standard molecular biology techniques, cell-based assays, and data analysis software.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team.
- Strong motivation and a passion for contributing to the field of infectious disease research.
