The roleWe are seeking an experienced and inspirational Head of Infants to lead the Infants department and school provision in Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Reception. This is a maternity cover position. The successful candidate will be an experienced Infants practitioner with a strong background in the EYFS, Development Matters and IEYC curricula. Working closely with the Head of Primary,



the post holder will provide strong educational leadership to ensure consistently high-quality teaching, learning and pastoral care. Central to the role is a commitment to Amazing Learning, ensuring every child experiences learning that leads to significant progress and develops confidence, curiosity and independence.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Infants department, including Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Reception.
- Ensure consistently high-quality teaching, learning and pastoral care across the Infants section.
- Inspire, lead and develop teachers and learning assistants.
- Contribute to the direction and development of the Infants programme as part of the primary team.
- Support the school’s after-school programme and participate in events and activities throughout the year.
- Promote child-centred education with high levels of pastoral care and an inclusive approach.
