As a Defensive Security Engineer at Adevinta, you will play a key role in strengthening the company’s defensive security capabilities. You will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining the organization’s security operations through automation, optimization, and continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

We are seeking candidates who demonstrate the following:

- A results-driven mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Good knowledge in security operations, including SOC management, incident response, and cyber threat intelligence.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in automation and scripting, with strong knowledge of programming languages such as Go (Golang) and Python.
- A collaborative team player who can work effectively across cross-functional teams and programs.

Job Responsibilities Engage directly with Adevinta’s security operations program, which is dedicated to elevating the organization's defensive capabilities and overall security posture. In this role, the Defensive Security Engineer is expected to drive key operational priorities, including:

- Automation &
- Workflow Optimization: Develop and integrate automation solutions to streamline operational processes and incident response activities.
- Manage Defensive Tools: Administer and fine-tune security tools and services to ensure reliability, scalability, and optimal performance.
- Improve Detection Effectiveness: Reduce both false positives and false negatives in security alerts, increasing the accuracy and efficiency of threat detection systems.

Create dashboards, metrics, and status reports to provide visibility into the health and performance of the managed security operations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other security and engineering teams to ensure cohesive, company-wide protection and response capabilities.
