Experteer Overview
In this role you will own the Controls Engineering scope for complex customer projects in EMEA, serving as the technical authority across the project lifecycle. You will shape the execution strategy, coordinate engineering resources, and manage risks to deliver high-quality, on-time solutions. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to ensure safe, compliant, and scalable automation in warehouse environments. This is a high-visibility, senior position that drives technical excellence and continuous improvement within Dematic’s intralogistics projects.

• Lead the Controls Engineering scope across complex customer projects and ensure alignment with objectives, quality, budget and schedule
• Define execution strategy, milestones and resource requirements for Controls Engineering
• Support sales and project handover with technical input, estimation, scheduling and capability assessment
• Develop and maintain detailed design and commissioning programmes aligned with mechanical design and customer milestones
• Serve as primary Controls Engineering point of contact for PM, site, procurement, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and customers
• Provide technical leadership through task allocation, risk management and escalation
• Own deliverables such as FDS, DOO, BOMs, procurement plans, installation docs, customer deliverables
• Ensure safety, design risk assessments and site-readiness at project stages




• Ensure proper transfer of technical information to customers for installation and training
• Maintain status reporting, resource plans, schedules and cost control, with clear risk/change management
• Coordinate interfaces with Mechanical, Structures and Installation to maintain alignment with milestones
• Conduct on-site safety audits and address installation requirements
• Drive continuous improvement in Controls Engineering practices and scalable solutions
• Mentor and role-model for Controls Engineers and lead engineers to foster technical excellence

Responsabilidades
• 8+ years in industrial automation with leadership experience on complex projects
• Strong Controls Engineering expertise and ability to challenge designs
• Expertise in Material Control Systems (MCS) and complex automation decisions
• Previous experience as Controls Lead or equivalent on at least one Amazon project
• Understanding of Amazon Controls standards and ability to translate to executable solutions
• Knowledge of ISO standards, machinery directive and safety qualifications is advantageous
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to represent Dematic to customers and partners
• Experience with MS Project, JIRA or similar tools
• Ownership mindset with risk identification, mitigation and escalation skills
• Fluent in English
