The project combines backend engineering, cloud architecture, microservices, and AI technologies, providing an opportunity to work on the core infrastructure behind high-performance AI applications.

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Backend / Platform Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Python, Node.js, and AWS. You will be responsible for designing and developing scalable backend APIs, secure microservices, and core platform services that support production-grade AI applications.

The role requires a strong engineering foundation combined with cloud expertise. You will work closely with AI Engineers to integrate AI capabilities into enterprise systems and ensure that backend services are secure, resilient, performant, and production-ready.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop highly scalable, resilient, and secure backend services and microservices.





Build and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs supporting AI-powered applications.

Integrate core business databases, third-party APIs, and legacy enterprise platforms with the AI engine and related services.

Optimize backend service latency, performance, and resource utilization to support real-time AI model hosting and inference.

Implement enterprise-grade authentication and authorization mechanisms, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).

Design and implement API rate limiting, access controls, and other security mechanisms.

Establish and promote clean coding standards and backend engineering best practices.

Develop comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure platform reliability and maintainability.

Conduct code reviews and contribute to continuous improvements in engineering quality.

Work closely with AI Engineers to deploy AI model components and backend microservices within containerized environments.

Integrate applications with cloud-hosted services, APIs, databases, and enterprise systems.

Contribute to automated CI/CD pipelines and reliable production deployment processes.





Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root-cause analysis across distributed services.

Requirements

Strong commercial backend development experience with Python.

Hands-on development experience with Node.js.

Strong practical experience with AWS and cloud-native application development.

Proven experience designing and building scalable, resilient, and secure cloud-based applications.

Strong understanding of microservices and distributed system architecture.

Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL APIs.

Experience integrating backend applications with databases, external APIs, and third-party services.

Hands-on experience implementing enterprise-grade authentication, authorization, and RBAC.

Strong understanding of API security and rate-limiting strategies.

Experience with Docker and containerized applications.

Strong software engineering practices, including Git, CI/CD, automated testing, integration testing, and code reviews.

Experience with performance optimization and troubleshooting of production backend services.
