Knitwear Designer / Product Developer — Barcelona A continuación se detalla todo lo que necesita saber sobre lo que implica esta ocasión, así como lo que se espera de los solicitantes.
We're hiring at KNIT STUDIO LAB.
I'm looking for a Knitwear Designer / Product Developer to join our Barcelona studio and work closely with me across the development of knitwear collections for international fashion brands.
I'm looking for someone with a strong fashion eye, real product sensitivity and a good understanding of knitwear — someone who can look at a runway reference, a vintage piece, a yarn, a stitch or a market direction and understand how to translate it into a relevant, commercial product.
The role will be very hands-on and will cover the full creative and development process:
Trend, runway and market research
Development of knitwear concepts and collections
CADs and technical specifications
Yarn, stitch and color research
Working with different gauges, constructions and knit techniques
Adapting concepts to the DNA and commercial needs of each brand
Reviewing samples and identifying what needs to be corrected or improved
Working closely with our development and production teams in Asia
Supporting collection preparation and presentations
We work across several international fashion brands and different womenswear directions,
so the ability to switch aesthetic codes quickly is essential.
I'm particularly interested in designers who are:
Strong in womenswear and knitwear
Extremely aware of fashion, brands, runway and market movement
Commercial without being basic
Fast, organised and comfortable working on several collections at the same time
Very detail-oriented with proportion, silhouette, colour and finishing
Able to recognise when a sample is simply "not good enough" and explain how to improve it
Curious about yarns, stitches, new techniques and product innovation
Confident using Adobe Illustrator
Independent, proactive and comfortable taking responsibility for their work
Previous experience with international brands, suppliers or fast-paced fashion environments will be highly valued.
I care much more about taste, product instinct and attitude than an impressive job title.
You need to be someone who genuinely looks at fashion, understands what is happening in the market and wants to make better product — not just execute technical drawings. xghoner
