In this role you will lead NextPower’s Global Packaging Engineering function, setting standards and strategies that improve quality, sustainability, safety and cost across the portfolio. You will manage a global team and collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, and suppliers to embed packaging considerations from design to launch. You’ll own returnable packaging programs and push standardization and innovation to protect products while reducing total landed costs.

This leadership role offers high visibility as packaging moves upstream in product development and across new technologies and business verticals.

- Develop and own the Global Packaging Engineering strategy aligned with business priorities
- Lead and develop the global Packaging Engineering team across regions
- Represent Packaging Engineering in NPI and early design stages through industrialization
- Lead returnable packaging programs including business cases and supplier deployment
- Establish general packaging standards, specifications, and validation requirements
- Drive packaging solutions for the full NextPower portfolio and new technologies
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to optimize packaging designs




- Drive value engineering and total landed cost reduction including logistics impacts
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure packaging meets technical and customer requirements
- Drive continuous improvement in packaging processes, automation, standardization and sustainability
- Establish KPIs and governance for packaging performance, cost, quality, and returnable packaging effectiveness
- Support packaging integration for new products and acquired businesses
- Maintain hands-on engagement with suppliers, manufacturing locations and projects globally

Responsabilidades

- 15+ years of experience in industrial Packaging Engineering
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Packaging Engineering or Mechanical/Industrial Engineering with packaging specialization
- Strong technical knowledge of packaging xugodme materials, design, specifications and validation
- Proven experience developing and implementing returnable packaging programs
- People-management experience across multiple locations and time zones
- Experience in global manufacturing, automotive, energy or similar industrial environments
- Cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, Logistics and suppliers
- Ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution
- Strong change-management and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Fluent English
- Willingness to travel globally and based in Madrid, Spain
