About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Head of Product Engineering to lead the technical vision, product strategy, and execution of a sophisticated demand-side advertising platform (DSP).

This role sits at the intersection of Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, and Product Strategy. You’ll unify engineering, data science, analytics, business intelligence, and real-time bidding technologies into a single, cohesive product organization while driving the evolution of a platform that powers advertiser acquisition at scale.

As a senior technology leader, you’ll work closely with commercial leadership to translate market opportunities into technical strategy and help define the next generation of advertising technology.

Responsibilities

- Own the end-to-end technical and product roadmap for a large-scale demand-side advertising platform.
- Align Engineering, Data Science, Data Engineering, Analytics, and Business Intelligence around a unified product vision.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary organization of approximately 20 engineers, data scientists, and analysts.
- Partner closely with Commercial, Revenue, and Sales leadership to align product priorities with market opportunities.
- Drive the evolution of the platform from managed-service capabilities toward scalable self-service solutions.




- Foster an engineering culture where technical leaders actively shape product direction and business outcomes.
- Define long-term platform architecture, technical priorities, and product strategy.
- Balance innovation, scalability, performance, and operational excellence across the platform.

Requirements

- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on development of large-scale real-time platforms.
- 5+ years leading multidisciplinary engineering organizations of 15–20+ people.
- Strong experience building or scaling real-time bidding, advertising technology, recommendation systems, marketplaces, or other high-throughput distributed platforms.
- Solid understanding of machine learning, predictive systems, and data science, with the ability to effectively lead technical teams in these domains.
- Experience across Data Engineering, Analytics, and Business Intelligence.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to operate effectively in fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments.
- Fluent Business English.
- Willingness to relocate to Barcelona or already based in the region.

Nice to Have

- Previous experience within mobile advertising, programmatic advertising, DSPs, SSPs, exchanges, or related AdTech platforms.
- Experience building machine learning-driven bidding, optimization, recommendation, or prediction systems.
- Background leading engineering teams developing highly scalable, data-intensive products.
