About the Company A fast-growing global technology organisation operating in a highly dynamic and evolving market are looking for a Junior Accounts Payable Analyst to join their Accounts Payable team in Madrid and support day-to-day operations.
About the Role
As a Junior Accounts Payable Analyst, this is an entry-level, execution-focused role, idóneo for someone at the start of their finance career who is eager to learn, highly organized, and comfortable taking on detail-heavy tasks. You will handle a large share of the team's operational workload: invoice entry, data checks, filing, and basic query handling, while being mentored by more experienced colleagues.
This role offers strong potential for growth: as you build knowledge of AP processes and our client's systems (including their upcoming Workday implementation), you'll progressively take on more responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Carry out day-to-day manual tasks such as invoice intake, data entry, and document filing.
- Process straightforward invoices under guidance, following internal controls and approval requirements.
- Help respond to basic vendor and internal queries, escalating anything unclear or complex to a senior team member.
- Assist with maintaining accurate records of invoices, open items, and AP activity.
- Support AP reconciliations by gathering data and flagging outstanding items.
- Flag risks, issues, or overdue items to the appropriate team member promptly.
- Assist with basic testing and data-entry tasks as part of the Workday implementation.
- Help check and organize data for validation and review.
- Support colleagues during the transition to new AP processes and workflows.
- Build knowledge of Workday and other systems used in the AP function, with training provided.
Required Skills
- 0–1 years of experience in Accounts Payable, finance, or a related field.
- No prior ERP experience required; willingness to learn systems like Workday is essential.
- Very good level of English, both written and spoken.
- Highly detail-oriented and organized, comfortable with repetitive, manual tasks.
- Eager to learn, curious, and proactive about asking questions.
- Able to manage time and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable and dependable, with a strong sense of ownership over assigned tasks.
- Clear, professional communicator.
- Collaborative team player who welcomes close guidance and feedback.
- Comfortable working with structured processes, spreadsheets, and financial data.
What success looks like
- Assigned manual and operational AP tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Basic vendor and internal queries are handled professionally, with anything complex escalated appropriately.
- AP records and open items are kept accurate and up to date.
- Workday testing and data tasks are completed reliably and carefully.
- The Junior AP Analyst shows steady progress, building confidence and taking on increasing responsibility over time.
