Software Engineer Join a leading integral management and technology consultancy and work alongside experienced engineers, consultants and client teams to solve complex business challenges through technology
As a Software Engineer, you’ll translate business problems into robust engineering solutions, developing high-quality Python applications and APIs that can be deployed into production. You’ll contribute throughout the development lifecycle, from designing and building solutions to code reviews, testing and deployment.
This is a strongly Python-focused backend engineering role. We’re looking for someone who is genuinely passionate about Python development and has hands-on experience building Python-based applications and frameworks.
The Opportunity
Based in Madrid, you’ll work as part of multidisciplinary project teams supporting clients across different industries and locations.
The role involves regular travel to client sites, with approximately 4 days per week working/travelling onsite with clients. Client locations may vary depending on the project and business requirements.
All reasonable travel and accommodation expenses related to client work will be covered.
What You'll Do
- Translate complex business requirements into effective, scalable engineering solutions.
- Develop and maintain high-quality Python applications and services.
- Build solutions using Python-based frameworks, such as Django, Flask, Kedro or similar.
- Design, develop and integrate REST APIs.Write clean, maintainable and production-ready code.
- Work with SQL databases, including writing queries and managing data.
- Contribute to the deployment and productionisation of new and existing products.
- Participate in code reviews and paired-programming sessions.
- Collaborate with engineers, consultants, data specialists and client stakeholders.
- Evaluate and adopt appropriate technologies to solve specific engineering challenges.
- Experiment with new approaches and continuously improve existing solutions.
- Contribute to technical and product decisions as part of a multidisciplinary team.
What We’re Looking For
- 4-10 years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on Python.
- Strong, hands-on Python development experience — Python should be your primary programming language.
- Proven experience developing applications using Python-based frameworks.
- Experience with Django, Flask, Kedro or similar frameworks is highly relevant.
- Hands-on experience developing and integrating REST APIs.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Experience with technologies such as AWS, Azure, Databricks, Docker or Kubernetes is advantageous.
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
