Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and capable Transport Planning Consultant to join our Transport Planning Practice within the Land Transport & Logistics Service Line. The successful candidate will support a wide range of transport planning, mobility, accessibility, and infrastructure advisory assignments across the EMEA region.
As a Transport Planning Consultant, you will contribute to the delivery of transport planning and mobility studies across different stages of project development, from early feasibility and master planning through to detailed operational assessments. You will support project delivery through data analysis, technical assessments, stakeholder coordination, reporting, and client-facing deliverables, working closely with senior team members.
The role will involve applying transport planning principles to support the movement of people and goods, including mobility planning, transport infrastructure assessments, accessibility studies, demand estimation, circulation strategies, intermodality, logistics planning, and transport advisory activities.
You will work as part of multidisciplinary project teams supporting both internal and external clients.
Responsibilities:
· Support the delivery of transport planning, mobility, logistics, and infrastructure studies across a variety of sectors and geographies.
· Assist with the development of mobility strategies, transport master plans, circulation assessments, accessibility studies, and transport impact assessments.
· Analyse transport, mobility, demographic, socioeconomic, and operational datasets to support technical studies and recommendations.
· Support demand estimation, traffic forecasting, capacity assessments, and transport network evaluations.
· Assist in the planning of multimodal transport systems, including pedestrian, active modes, public transport, private vehicles, and freight networks.
· Contribute to transport and mobility solutions for major infrastructure projects, industrial facilities, ports, logistics hubs, energy projects, and urban developments.
· Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., Master Planning, Logistics, Transport & Infrastructure Advisory, and Ports & Marine) to deliver integrated consulting outputs.
· Support the preparation of technical reports, presentations, client deliverables, and workshop materials, ensuring clear and structured communication of technical findings.
· Participate in project meetings and support project managers in coordinating transport planning activities.
· Contribute to proposal and bid development by preparing technical inputs, methodologies, scopes of work, assumptions, and work plans.
· Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, project teams, and internal stakeholders.
· Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to support innovation within the Transport Planning Practice.
· Please note that this is not a design role. The position is focused on consulting and advisory activities, as outlined above.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, Transport Engineering, Urban Planning, Geography, Economics, Logistics, or a related discipline. Master's degree is preferred.
· 3 to 5 years of experience in transport planning, mobility consulting, accessibility studies, infrastructure planning, or related disciplines.
· Relevant experience supporting transport and mobility projects across public and private sector clients.
· Understanding of transport planning principles, transport systems, mobility strategies, demand estimation, accessibility analysis, and transport infrastructure planning.
· Familiarity with transport modelling tools such as VISUM, VISSIM, VISWALK, AIMSUN, EMME, SATURN, CUBE, or similar would be considered an advantage.
· Experience with GIS, Power BI, Python, VBA, or other analytical tools is desirable.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into practical recommendations.
· Proven ability to prepare clear, structured, client-ready written outputs and presentations, supported by solid Excel and PowerPoint skills.
· Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary project environments.
· Ability to operate effectively in a consulting environment, both independently and collaboratively with senior advisors and multidisciplinary teams.
· Proficient written and spoken English is required. Spanish language skills are required for candidates based in Spain or Colombia. For candidates based in other locations, Spanish proficiency would be considered an advantage. Additional language skills are also valued.
· Preferred location: Spain, KSA; UAE (EMEA). Candidates based in Colombia and India (Consulting Delivery Centre – CDC locations) will also be considered.
