We are looking for an Azure Data Engineer to join a growing Data & Analytics team and play a key role in the development and management of a cloud-based data platform built on Microsoft Azure on a Freelance Basis

12 month contract

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain data solutions on Microsoft Azure.
- Build and optimise data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lake architectures.
- Support analytics, business intelligence, and AI use cases within the data platform.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues across the data landscape.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, processes, and integrations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners within agile delivery teams.
- Contribute to the development of tools, frameworks, and best practices that support data engineering teams.

Requirements

Essential

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering,



or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience within Data Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or a similar position.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and modern cloud data platforms.
- Strong Python development skills.
- Experience working with Git/GitHub for source control and collaboration.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally using Terraform.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.

Desirable

- Experience with Databricks.
- Knowledge of dbt, Apache Airflow, or similar orchestration tools.
- Experience with Linux scripting.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Exposure to analytics and AI-focused data platforms.
