Senior ICT Expert Java/Angular

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain Java/Angular applications for AWV as a Senior ICT Expert.
- Design, implement and maintain solutions using Java, JavaScript, Angular, Spring and Hibernate.
- Develop and integrate RESTful web services and work with GIS applications and GIS data storage such as PostGIS.
- Engage directly with users and stakeholders to understand requirements and develop effective application solutions.
- Work independently within Agile/Scrum teams, contributing to development, refinement and delivery activities.
- Analyse technical challenges and propose appropriate solutions using modern ICT technologies.
- Contribute to the full software development lifecycle while ensuring quality, maintainability and performance.

Experience Required

- 8+ years of demonstrable experience with Java, Angular, Spring and RESTful web services.
- Thorough and demonstrable knowledge of Java programming.




- At least 5 years of demonstrable experience with GIS applications and GIS data storage, such as PostGIS.
- At least 5 years of demonstrable experience with the required technology or similar technologies.
- Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript and Angular.
- Dutch-speaking at European CEFR level C2 is mandatory.
- Higher education (Bachelor/Master) with a technical/engineering background or equivalent professional experience in ICT technology.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams is an advantage.
- Experience working for government organisations is an advantage.
- Experience with Hibernate is an advantage.
- Experience with agentic AI tools for software development, such as Claude or Codex, is an advantage.
- Experience with Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence, is an advantage.
