Giesecke+Devrient is a global company that offers security technologies, both in the physical and digital world. With around 11,600 employees across 32 countries, we develop, manufacture, and distribute products and solutions for the safeguarding of payment processes, identities, connectivity, and data. This is a hands-on engineering role in an international team responsible for deployment and administration of Java applications developed in-house. You will collaborate closely with the developers and with colleagues from IT Infrastructure and Customer Support.
Install, integrate, and troubleshoot Java-based applications hosted at G+D Datacenters and Cloud environments for market-leading customers.
Operate web servers, proxy servers, and Java applications in a Linux-based environment,



including the management of digital certificates and keys.
Analyze and resolve incidents related to Java applications, in compliance with the service level agreements and service processes based on the ITIL framework.
Implement, test, and document new customer solutions in close coordination with project management and other internal teams.
Maintain and enhance our monitoring, logging, and event management systems.
Automate regular operational support tasks and system deployments using scripts and Ansible.
Degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent qualification.
Experienced in managing Web Servers, Apache, Tomcat, and Java Applications in a Linux based environment.
Basic knowledge of Cloud Computing environments, particularly AWS, and container orchestration, such as Kubernetes (e.g. Understanding of networking concepts (OSI model, TCP/IP).
Bash, Python) and ideally Ansible experience for automation and tooling.
Knowledge of ITIL processes and Service Management.
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum teamwork.
Fluent written and spoken English.
