We are working with an independently owned, Madrid-headquartered real assets investment firm managing approximately €3bn on the hire of an Associate for its investment team.
Why this platform?
- Privately owned and founded well over a decade ago, investing across European real estate, infrastructure, energy and other hard assets through a mix of strategies rather than a single product line.
- Versátil mandate across the capital structure, from senior and structured positions to equity, joint ventures and platform investments, so the team backs the right structure for the asset rather than forcing one.
- Currently raising its largest flagship European fund to date, already past 70% of target after its second close, with commitments from institutional investors across Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East.
- A compact team of investment professionals across offices in Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Germany and Luxembourg, each led by locally based partners who originate directly in their own markets.
- Bespoke, mid-sized transactions where you own the deal end to end, in a flat, senior-heavy team with genuine cross-border exposure from day one.
The role
- Support origination, structuring and execution of real assets transactions across Southern and Western Europe, spanning real estate, infrastructure and energy.
- Build and own financial models across structures: asset-level cash flows, development and operating cases, capital structure, returns and downside scenarios.
- Coordinate legal, tax, technical, commercial and valuation due diligence with external advisers.
- Prepare investment committee materials and take part in discussions with sponsors, operating partners, vendors and intermediaries.
- Asset management and portfolio monitoring after closing, including business plan tracking, reporting and value-creation initiatives.
- Work directly alongside partners in a lean deal team, with responsibility that grows quickly.
What we are looking for
- Around 2–4 years of experience in real estate or infrastructure investing, real assets private equity, structured finance, real estate or infrastructure investment banking, or a real assets fund.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, comfortable moving between equity and structured investment cases.
- Understanding of asset-level value drivers: leasing and operating fundamentals, development and capex, exit dynamics and the interplay between leverage and returns.
- Language requirement: full professional fluency in three European languages, English plus two of Spanish, German, Italian, French or Portuguese. This is a firm requirement given the firm's multi-country origination model.
- International mindset: cross-border transactions, multi-jurisdiction structures or time spent working outside your home market is a real plus.
- Comfortable in a small team where responsibility is visible and immediat
