Job Description
An opportunity for a Secondary Power System Engine In-Service Engineer has arisen within Airbus Operations in Getafe (Madrid). The selected candidate will join the 1PYE2 team within the Airbus Powerplant organization (Propulse). The team is fully multi-functional and gathers a broad range of competencies needed to integrate the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) engine system—which provides non-propulsive energy—covering its complete life cycle from research, product development, qualification, and certification through to in-service engineering support and continuous airworthiness.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and steer APU suppliers regarding turbomachinery performance, root cause failure investigations, and technical change verification at the aircraft level.
- Lead APU turbomachinery technical investigations of reportable occurrences, providing risk assessments and determining corrective actions.
- Manage end-to-end technical responsibilities for design solutions through the Aircraft Mod process, including supplier activities, Airbus committees steering, V&V;,
and certification inputs.
- Support production activities by providing engineering responses to the Final Assembly Line and Production Flight Line for APU turbomachinery issues.
- Provide on-time and on-quality responses to Customer Services queries, supporting airline troubleshooting, updating aircraft manual instructions, and solving AOG situations.
