The Field Service Engineer (FSE) is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing high-end microscopy systems (e.g. confocal microscopes) at customer sites. The role ensures optimal system performance and customer satisfaction through timely service delivery, technical expertise, and proactive support within the area of Spain and Portugal.

Tasks

Install and commission advanced microscopy systems at customer sites

Perform preventive maintenance and system calibrations

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, vacuum, and software-related issues

Troubleshoot complex system failures and implement corrective actions

Execute upgrades and modifications to existing systems





Provide technical support and training to customers (scientists, lab technicians, engineers)

Act as the primary technical contact for assigned accounts

Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through professional service delivery

Maintain detailed service documentation and reports

Manage service schedules, parts inventory, and travel planning

Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards

Collaborate with internal teams (R&D;, technical support, sales) to resolve issues

Support remote diagnostics and digital service tools

Identify recurring issues and suggest product/service improvements

Participate in technical training to stay current with new technologies

Share knowledge and best practices within the service organization
