We are seeking an experienced Director of Software Engineering to lead the modernisation of our legacy applications and drive our cloud-based transformation. In this role, you will design and implement a scalable microservices platform, mentor high-performing engineering teams, and ensure the delivery of large-scale, high-performance applications in a regulated environment. Your expertise in Java, cloud technologies, DevOps, and microservices architecture will be critical in shaping our technical roadmap and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

What will you be doing?
Technical Leadership & Strategy
Define and execute the technical vision for modernising legacy systems, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
·Lead the design and implementation of a cloud-native microservices platform , optimising for scalability, performance, and resilience.
Drive the cloud transformation strategy,



including migration, optimisation, and cost management.
Champion DevOps best practices , including CI/CD, infrastructure as code (IaC), and observability, to accelerate delivery and improve reliability.
Team Building & Mentorship
Build, lead, and mentor high-performing engineering teams , fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Develop and retain top talent, providing technical guidance and career growth opportunities.
