We ran this programme for the first time in 2026: twelve modules, 45+ faculty from frontier labs, AI Safety Institutes and universities, 40 students from around the world, and a week together in Valencia. Now we need someone to run it again, and run it better.

OVERVIEW
- Title:
Programme Manager, International Programme on AI Evaluation: Capabilities & Safety
- Reports to:
Strategy Lead who ran the first edition. You’ll also work in close partnership with the Academic Directors.
- Dates:
Start date as soon as possible, until the end of July 2027.
- Time commitment:
Part-time, 0.7 FTE or 28 hours per week.
- Salary:
€48,000 gross over a 10-month contract
- Location:
Fully remote. We'd prefer you in or near a European time zone, given the faculty, partner and cohort schedule.
- Employment:
Hired through BERI, our fiscal sponsor, and open to candidates anywhere. You need the right to work in the country where you live. We employ US-based staff directly and hire internationally through an employer of record.

we’d look to increase the role to full-time (hours and pay), and keep you for a third edition.

AI is moving faster than our ability to understand and evaluate its capabilities and risks. Right now, governments, companies, and researchers don’t have a shared language or tools to make sure these systems are safe, reliable, and aligned with human values. The International Programme on AI Evaluation: Capabilities & Safety is here to close that gap. We are creating a new academic discipline and preparing the next generation of specialists with the technical and policy expertise needed to test, monitor, and guide the safe development of AI.
