Role Description This is a full-time, hybrid Full Stack Engineer role based in Barcelona, with flexibility to work remotely part of the time.

The Full Stack

Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain scalable web applications across front-end and back-end layers.

Responsibilities include collaborating with product managers and designers to refine requirements, implementing secure APIs and integrations, optimizing application performance, and ensuring reliability through automated testing and code reviews. The role also involves participating in architecture discussions, contributing to technical documentation, and supporting deployment and monitoring in production environments.



The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with Smartedge’s technical standards and client needs.

Qualifications

- Front-end development skills, such as modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue), HTML5, CSS3, and responsive UI implementation.
- Back-end development skills, including experience with server-side languages (e.g., Node.js, Java, or .NET), RESTful API design, and integration with external services.
- Database skills, covering relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB), data modeling, and query optimization.
- DevOps and tooling skills, such as version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Quality and security skills, including automated testing (unit, integration), debugging, secure coding practices, and performance monitoring.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, clear communication, and the capacity to collaborate effectively in international, cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a hybrid setup in Barcelona, manage time independently, and adapt to changing priorities and client requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; prior experience in full stack or similar roles is highly beneficial.
